About Us

Placenta Encapsulation Murrieta Temecula
Doula Taryn Clawson

My name is Taryn Clawson and I am a childbirth and lactation educator, birth and postpartum doula and a placenta encapsulator. My journey into the birth world began back in 2009 after the birth of my third child. Friends had heard my birth stories and began to ask questions that pushed me to start researching birth.  Every question I found an answer to opened up a whole new set of questions to ask. After a short time I found that I was then being invited to attend the births of friends to help support them!  It quickly became evident that I needed to make my new passion official and attended birth doula classes through CAPPA. It has been a wonderful adventure ever since!
In 2010/11 I had the fantastic opportunity to take a yearlong breastfeeding course.  I learned alongside some of the best nurses in our area. It was an amazing time to continue my education of the amazing relationship between mother and child. Also during that time I was breastfeeding my fourth child. It is funny how fate works sometimes. Believe it or not, after nursing a cumulative time of 5 years between my older three children, it was with my fourth that I had numerous breastfeeding struggles. From firsthand experience I understand how difficult the first few weeks with our new little ones can be.
My goal is to take the fear and unknown out of childbirth and breastfeeding. I support and celebrate each expectant couple’s journey no matter what it looks like.  Birth is as unique and wonderful as the child we are bringing into the world. Through education, families learn how to achieve their own goals and desires.

I am honored to provide an education for families to learn how to achieve their own goals and desires.

I am still married to my high school sweet heart. We have three grown children and currently are blessed with 7 grandchildren.  When I’m not supporting families who are preparing for the birth of their new addition, I love to garden, sew and care for my family. Most of my time is spent with my family at barb b que’s, picnics, days at the beach and birthday parties.
I fell in love with pregnancy and the amazing birth process with my first pregnancy.  I delivered my first born in the hospital and learned I was the only person in the dynamics who had no voice on caring for my baby. That sent me searching for a midwife to have my next two babies at home.  At home is where I learned that birthing truly is a natural process, that a woman’s body is created to have babies. For me, home birthing was a perfect fit. However, I do understand that it’s not comfortable for everyone, and even though I believe a woman’s body was created with the ability to grow and birth babies sometimes “stuff happens” where medical intervention is necessary.
In 2007 I had the honor and privilege of supporting my son and daughter in law with the birth of my granddaughter.  This was my first opportunity to be on the receiving end of birth. My daughter in law was so thankful for my support she knew in her heart that I should be helping other women as well. It was at her prompting that I decided to follow my passion of supporting and educating families during pregnancy and birth as a doula.

  • Taryn is a certified lactation specialist.  Breastfeeding is wonderful  (and so many other things) but not always easy. Having someone who understands the physical and emotional aspects of nursing can be life altering. We thoroughly enjoy being of assistance to all breastfeeding mothers and their families.
  • A fun fact about us that between the two of us we have worked in 20 different hospitals and birth centers!
